In 2016 Gord Downie, the Tragically Hip front man, toured across Canada knowing he was dying.
The reason he continued to work despite his diagnosis, I believe, is because it gave him purpose, gratification and satisfaction.. and helped others. He did what he loved.
Do you love the work you do?
If someone told you that you had a year to live – would you work if you could? What kind of work would you do?
If you’d quit your job and do something else, perhaps it’s a sign you’re not doing what you’re meant to be doing.
When we do work that makes us come alive, we seek to do more of it – not less.
The world doesn’t need all of us to show up at our jobs. What the world needs is for us to do work that matters to us.
